We are now looking for a driven Key Account Manager in the Western United States!  

Position Overview

As Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening long-term partnerships with existing clients while identifying new opportunities that generate satisfied customers and sustainable revenue for Runway Safe. The position is a combination of Account Management (60%), proactive Lead Generation (30%), and Bid Coordination (10%). You will be the face of Runway Safe in the West Coast region, including Alaska, working remotely and reporting to the Logan Office, NJ, with the expectation of 50% travel during parts of the year.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues within the Customer Experience Department (including New Sales, Application Engineering, and Field Services), as well as Production, Logistics, and other parts of the organization. The team operates with a flat structure that encourages accountability, communication, and a high degree of self-motivation.

In this position, you will:

  • Act as the first line of support for all assigned customers by coordinating the Runway Safe team to manage situations in an advisory manner and offer solutions
  • Prospecting new leads by researching existing and new airports, mapping their needs and qualifying them by initial contact
  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of bids and proposals, ensuring proposals are accurate, compelling, and compliant with client requirements, and reviewed and approved internally as per Runway Safe standards
  • Capture market trends and input from customers and other stakeholders in the industry, and stay up to date with industry developments to inform the business and product development

Your profile

We are looking for you who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Airport Management/Operations, or a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in sales and/or business development – ideally in aviation, infrastructure, or B2B technical sales
  • Self-motivation and proactive skills; with a strong ability to drive things forward independently
  • Excellent relationship-building skills; able to establish trust and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Effective collaboration skills; working well across internal teams
  • Strong communication skills; clear and confident in both written and verbal interactions
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience working with CRM systems (e.g. MS 365 Dynamics, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for customer visits, around 50%
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to pass background check
  • A valid driver’s license

It is seen as a plus if you have:

  • Education in aviation and/or infrastructure-related field
  • Experience with airport design, operations, and/or safety
  • Experience with public and/or private procurement related sales processes
  • Multicultural competence/international experience
  • Curiosity; eager to learn and stay up to date with technology and customer trends
  • Creative and strategic mindset
  • AAAE Certified Member (CM)
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and/or Dynamics 365
  • Second language
  • A pilot’s license

Compensation & Schedule

This position is remote, stationed in the Western United States, including Alaska, and will be reporting to our Swedesboro (Logan Township), New Jersey location, with travel required up to 50% of the time.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000.
  • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.
  • Weekly base schedule for this position is Monday to Thursday, 7am-5pm.
